The Storm 500 is engineered for epics in all conditions, featuring a robust waterproof/dustproof housing and 500 lumens of bright light. Powered by our BD 1500 Li-ion battery that’s charged by a micro USB, the Storm 500 R also features a sustainably made elastic headband with Repreve recycled textiles. The compact body is ergonomic, and the updated user interface includes a secondary switch for easy mode selection. In addition, the updated optical efficiency not only provides brighter light, but also saves battery life that you can now easily track with a six-setting, three-LED battery meter. The Storm 500 R also has three different colored night vision modes and peripheral white lighting for close-range activities like carefully re-racking for the final summit pitch in the dark. The headlamp has our Brightness Memory feature, which allows you to turn the light on and off at a chosen brightness without reverting back to the default, full power setting. The Storm 500 R’s PowerTap Technology enables you to quickly and easily access maximum brightness with the touch of a finger.

    Great product and definitely recommend.
    Ordered this light after losing power with hurricane Helene in Florida and it came in clutch for hurricane Milton. Super bright and lasts a long time. Also, love being able to recharge the batteries. A bit pricey for a headlamp but well worth the money in my opinion.

    My previous Black Diamond light was the Revolt model and it worked flawlessly for years, unfortunately I lost it during a move and went right back to Black Diamond for their latest model. Great light for hunting or any closeup work that you need a Bright, long lasting light.

    Great light!!
    I’m wondering how I ever got along without it!! It’s great to have access to a bright, long-lasting, hands-free, light source when playing motorcycle mechanic in my poorly lit garage. I charged it when it arrived and haven’t had to charge it since despite using it fairly frequently over the last few weeks. I have not measured the actual time of use, but it seems to hold a charge for a good long while. The light level adjustability just works and I love that it can be locked in the power off position to prevent accidentally turning it on while in your bag. I also love being able to wave my hand on the side of the unit for instant max brightness. It is light weight enough to be hardly noticeable on my head. Buttons are fairly intuitive and the unit appears to be very well constructed. I’d buy it again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend.

    The controls are easy to use. I really like the fact it ‘remembers’ it’s last setting. Extremely bright. Charging was fast.

    Good light
    Solid headlamp. Have had several black diamond headlamps however the latch for the battery compartment breaks after much use. A rechargeable unit eliminates this problem. Easy to use weatherproof, very bright.

    It just works. It stays put, puts out exactly as much light as I want in the colors that I want, it lasts long enough to do what I need to do and I don’t have to worry about carrying extra batteries. I use them for running, auto work, computer repair, aircraft preflight…you name it.

    Bit of a long story this……. tried to purchase this Storm 500-R direct from Black Diamond on their website but encountered errors in that it would not accept my address and said it could not deliver to the address I input. I gave up and ‘paid the extra’ to purchase it through Amazon. (Yes it would have been cheaper direct from Black Diamond. Anyway, received item and immediately found the very short charging cable was faulty in some way as it would not charge the torch. I did have other cables that worked, but I had paid for a cable and wanted one that worked. This suggests issues with manufacture / quality control, so I returned item to Inglesport – at which point I found out I HAD TO PAY RETURN POSTAGE – for a defective item. You are having a laugh???? So, I have no faith in Black Diamond and little belief in Inglesport. I am now out of pocket for a rubbish product I have returned.

    Sehr hell, die Bedienung ist durchdacht mit zwei Knöpfen (muss man aber erst mal lernen, die optionen sind vielfach) und die Akkulaufzeit der Hammer.Ich habe auch die Campinglampe von BlackDiamond (Moji+) , welche das gleiche Bedienkonzept hat.Richtig toll finde ich auch, dass sie sich in allen drei Modi die Helligkeitseinstellung merkt. Und falls man mal sehr viel licht braucht, tippt man auf die seite.Hatte inzwischen 5 Headlamps über die letzten 15 Jahre (Petzl und LedLenser) und das ist wirklich bisher die Beste die ich je hatte.Einziges Manko, der Akku ist nicht tauschbar. Falls der Akku irgendwann schlapp macht, muss die ganze Headlamp dran glauben. Jedoch hat ein Freund einen der Vorgänger und wünscht sich inzwischen, seine alte BlackDiamond würde endlich schlapp machen, dass er einen Grund hat, sich die 500er zu holen 😉
