    Great trekking poles
Poles are strong and easily adjustable. Used them on vacation hiking in Colorado’s Rocky Mountain National Park. Couldn’t have done it without them.

    Excellent trekking poles
Purchased a set of these for my son a year or so ago. They got lost in transit in an airport returning from the John Muir Trail so I purchased another set here. These are lightweight…like carbon poles but the 7075 aluminum that these are made from is more durable than carbon poles. The locks on these telescoping poles do not slip…they hold solid whether ascending or descending regardless of terrain. The first set of these trekking poles did 265 miles on the John Muir Trail and 486 miles on the Colorado Trail without any problems. These are not just good looking poles…they’ve been leaned on. My son has a Durston tent so his trekking poles are also his tent poles…he really can’t have a trekking pole failure and hasn’t. Now he has a new set of these and he’s delighted because he knows these are dependable and loves that they are lightweight. There is a tool that is integrated onto the internal end of the left hand pole’s bottom section. That tool allows the locks to be tightened while on the trail should they become loose. These have proven to be comfortable, dependable, and lightweight…we highly recommend these trekking poles.

Consistent problems reported with getting the correct order
Much like some other reviewers have stated, I only received a single pole instead of both poles, despite it being clearly marketed as being two. If you want to order this for an upcoming hike, give yourself plenty of time as you may need to return it (as there’s no other option to fix your order).

    Love These Poles
I had given my son my old collapsible poles. Needed some for a backpack trip and decided on these. Very impressed and they work great. I’ve used them for backpacking, mountaineering and snowshoeing. Two sets of baskets and very light. Definitely recommend.

  5. RWK

    Impressed With These Poles
I was impressed with the quality of the poles, the comfort of the handles, the ease of adjusting the length, and ability to tighten the clamps with the built in tool. It’s obvious a lot of thought has gone into designing these poles. I highly recommend them.

great poles easy to use, cannot change tips
These poles are easy to use, easy to adjust, but impossible for me to change the tips. I got some “Tech Tips – Rubber – Black Diamond” but I can’t get the original tips off to use the rubber tips. The poles give me great support, but I’d rather have a rubber tip that does not leave little indents in the ground. I’ve tried using pliers to pull the original tips off, but I am not strong enough to get them off.So I’m frustrated and there is no support on this issue from black diamond even though both the poles and the new tips are black diamond products.

    Excellent poles
I have had these trekking poles 3 months and have used them over a dozen hikes. I am a day hiker and have used them primarily in the desert (Arizona) and in the forested mountains of eastern Arizona. They have been awesome. I have used budget poles prior and the difference is like using inexpensive golf clubs than using a set of Ping or Taylor Made clubs. The feel and balance are superior as well as the quality. They are expensive but like a good tool or good golf clubs, once you use them you realize the difference and won’t go back to the cheaper versions.

  8. Jason

    Only received one trekking pole
The box only came with one trekking pole. There were two snow attachments, but only one trekking pole. Very disappointed. Ended up just going with a completely different brand.

This is the first time I have ever used hiking poles, after shunning them for years. A recent Yorkshire three peaks challenge made me reconsider and I haven’t looked back. The Cork grips were comfortable and wicked away any moisture and once extended, they never once gave way. Honestly, if you are considering getting a set of poles, I can honestly recommend these!
